Screen Movement
I have spent Saturday morning figuring out a screen movement when the player goes from one screen to the next. The current setup is an immediate move to the next screen without any fading or moving of sorts, which I'm completely okay with, but I have noticed my daughter having issues tracking the player on specific locations.
And so I have made two versions. One I did not even bother keeping videos of, but it's a straight move without any sort of ease-in and ease-out. It's snappy but also very jarring. The other version is the same but with ease-in and ease-out, at different speeds.
Slow version
Anything slower than this feels too slow, and the movement, while keeping track of the player, is almost slightly sickening.
This is kind of okay, but during backtracking the player is expected to go through some of the screens fairly fast, and at that point this can be a bit too much.
This is also almost okay, but at full screen is still a bit distracting, and the speed is so fast that it's not that much different from a straight switch to the next screen.
So, after spending a few hours on this, I have decided to stick to the screen switch instead of a camera move. I might go back to this in the future if I have another idea, but for now, this is it.
